A Jury Won't Uncover Information Relevant to Your Case on Its Own

To give a jury the knowledge and information they need, Rob immerses himself in his clients' lives to get to know who they are, not just what they've done: he digs until he finds the reason behind the criminal charges. He then presents this information to a jury, as if describing a movie or great book, to make the jury experience what really happened, what the case is really about, and, most importantly, why his client is facing criminal charges.

"Practicing law is just like practicing baseball or football," says Rob. "If you don't do something every day to improve your skills, then they're going to erode."

Anyone can look in a law book, says Rob, but few trial lawyers can be a finely honed weapon. Rob is constantly working not only on expanding his knowledge but also working to further develop his trial skills.

Rob is often found in schools and conferences practicing and refining his cross-examination techniques, opening statements, jury selection methods, and other trial skills. He is a graduate of the National College of Criminal Defense and Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College and attended countless seminars.

Perhaps the most effective training, however, is the training Rob does on his own every day. He even has a private courtroom in his Tupelo, Mississippi law office in which he practices trial procedures.

His private courtroom is also useful for individual cases. Rob is known for his exhaustive preparation in each case, going over and over the facts, searching for the explanations behind the facts, and breaking down to how the case will play out: What facts will the jury believe? How will their belief affect the client and the claim? How will all these facts be incorporated into a full, convincing account of what happened?

Rob's passion for preparation extends to other fields that apply to his cases. Over the years he has worked to gain knowledge in psychology and medicine to more effectively serve his clients.
